Warhammer Fantasy Tournament at Gen Con Indianapolis
We are very happy to be hosting our first ever Gen Con Warhammer Fantasy tournament. We thank John Sterba for heading up this effort and look forward to having a great time with everyone. Please see below for all the rules and information.

Core Tournament Rules 1.1

Location: Mini Hall
Introduction:
This is the 1st JAC Games GENCON Tournament. The purpose of this event is to bring Warhammer Fantasy Battle players a venue at GENCON. The organizer being both a Warhammer player and a GENCON attendee desired to bring both together. If all goes well we hope to continue running the event in the future. Please have fun and remember it is only a game.

Points awarded for sportsmanship, game play, appearance and theme..

9AM-11:30AM Round 1
11:30PM-12:30PM Lunch Break
12:30PM-3:00PM Round 2
3:30PM-6PM Round 3
6:30PM- Scoring and awards.
Registration:
1. Register through the GENCON events sign up. Last minute entries will be accepted (providing there is room), but ensure you have enough Generic tickets to cover the entry.
5. When you arrive Saturday morning you must check in at the scoring table. Please be on time out of respect of your
opponents and the organizers.
6. Provide the judges with a legible copy of your list.
a) The army list must: Include your name, be typed, clear and readable. Contain all point
costs of models, upgrades, equipment, magic items etc.
7. If it is discovered you are using a different list than provided, you may
be asked to leave or have a deduction in overall points.
8. Legible copies of your list must be provided to your opponent AFTER each game.
Failure to do so can cost your sportsmanship points.
9. 2150pts is the MAX. Do not turn in a list at 2151 or more points.
Miniatures:
1. Where at all possible all models in the army should be “What you see is what you get”.
This means Great Weapons, spears, shields, Marks, etc should all be evident. The
majority of the unit should be equipped in that fashion. At the umpires discretion any
non-WYSIWYG models may be removed from the game or loss of VPs.
2. Non GW miniatures are acceptable, but must be an appropriate model and must be on
the correct sized base.
3. Conversions are allowed and encouraged. They must be evident as to what they
represent to a reasonable standard. Special permission may be given on a case by case
basis. Counts As and Proxy models are discouraged, but you may make your case if you
have a specific conversion or theme.
General Gaming
1. The Judge or Umpire will have the final word. No exceptions.
2. No swearing or offensive language or actions. You may be warned or asked to leave
without a refund depending on the offense and/or number of offenses.
3. Roll your dice in an open area and make sure your opponent can see them.
4. Warhammer 7th Edition rules, Errata, FAQs are in effect. Know the rules. Know your
army.
5. Armies may not include dogs of war unless the army is a Dogs of War army. No army
may include a Truthsayer or a Dark Emissary.
Armies from the Storms of Chaos, Lustria, and Kislev are welcome, as are DOW, and
bull riders from white dwarf. No special characters, no appendix/back of book lists are
allowed. This includes the hero level special characters in the new Empire Army Book.
Odd Number of Players
We will have a Ringer or House army with an average list. His mission will be to
provide fair and fun games but he is not there to give up freebie wins. He is ineligible for
any awards and will play for free. If he is not needed, he will act as a judge until such
time he is needed.
Terrain
Terrain is preset. It does not move other than if Treesinging moves it. At the end of the
game place the woods back in the estimated original location.
Woods block all LOS, even from hills to large targets.
Wood Elves do not get the extra wood for this event.
Scoring
Each game will be scored
15 points for a win
9 points for a tie
5 points for a loss
Scenarios allow for up to 3 bonus points or a loss of up to 2. Read the Scenarios before beginning a round.
Painting Scoring
Basing 0-3
From unpainted or painted green bases (0), to basic flock (1-2), to fully terrained and
themed bases (3).
Technical Detailing 0-8
From minimal basic colors (1-3), to clean neat painting with basic shading, highlighting
(4-6), to very advanced technical skill, highlights and detailing (7-8).
WYSIWYG 0-3
From the majority of units are not fully WYSIWYG (0), to all models are fully
WYSIWYG (3).
Banners 0-3
From no banners (0), to standard banners in two colors (1), to converted or multicolor
banners (3).
Conversions 0-3
From no noticeable conversions (0), to minor weapons changes (1-2), to lots of
impressive large scale conversions (3)
WOW 0-5
These will be the hardest points to gain and will only be awarded to the very best armies
that impress the judges the most
Total possible 25pts
Sportsmanship
At the end of each game, you will be asked to complete a sportsmanship questionnaire.
At the end of the tournament you will also be asked to vote for the ‘best sportsman’
amongst those players you played over the weekend.
This will be a total of 25pts + bonus points from Best Sports Vote.
Composition
Composition will judged based against a “to be published” composition list as well as a points to be earned at the end of every round.
Awards:
Best Overall. A overall weighted percentage of each individual category divided by the maximum number of points. Battle points will be worth 50%, Painting 20%, Sportsmanship 20%, and Composition 10%.
Best General. Pure Battle points including the bonus points from banding.
Best Sportsmanship. Most Sports points + bonus points from Best Sport vote.
Best Painted Army. Painting points + bonus points from the judges.
What to Bring:
• Rulebooks, army books, and any official publications in use at the tournament.
• Templates, dice (including special ones) and a tape measure or range rulers.
• Reference sheets.
• At least three copies of your army list one for you , one for the judges and one for your opponents
• Your army!
• Superglue (for repairs).
